Love the hyper pro upgrade kit! In particular, the new GHD pad is fantastic! I have so much more confidence using this compared to the previous velcro pad, which certainly wasn't bad, this is just much better. The new thicker padding is also noticeably more comfortable during certain exercises. Really happy I purchased this.
Not only is this an awesome upgrade to the Nordic Hyper but the company themselves have been outstanding to deal with each and every time. First up, I got a partial refund as the price had come down from when I originally paid for this. And I didn’t ask for it. Freak Athlete proactively provided the refund. Second, this arrived a couple weeks ahead of the original date given for delivery (my original Nordic order was also early!). With this upgrade I can now easily do reverse hypers and the new GHD pad makes it like a proper GHD. If you’re looking at the price and thinking it’s expensive, well, sure, it’s not the cheapest bit of gym equipment. But is it worth it? Abso-bloody-lutely!! The build quality is excellent. What you can do with it is unreal and the company amazing is to deal with. If you have a home gym, I cannot recommend this highly enough. I am so looking forward to the leg developer coming soon. I'm an endurance athlete that runs and cycles daily along with strength training. The Hyper Pro has been by far the best addition to my training. My entire body is feeling stronger and more balanced. I also suffer from sciatica from degenerative discs and that has significantly improved over the last month of using the Hyper Pro, I highly recommend this

This upgrade is bomber! We're very impressed with the overall sturdiness of the upgrade and the way it's been able to bear the abuse we've been hurling at it. It's a snap to move attachments on/off. Very impressed. I'm also very impressed with Freak Athlete's support. A great company to deal with.

Really easy to install. I was mostly interested in the GHD which is a massive upgrade to the previous version.

Very nice upgrade kit to the Hyper GHD. Easy to assemble. Quality of upgrades was improved over original parts. Highly recommend it. The rear base adds a lot of stability and the new GHD pad is way more stable and substantial than the old one. The material on the pads is much improved too.

The GHD attachment is way better than the previous GHD pad. The pro padding looks better but does not justify the upgrade. I personnaly prefer the old rear base and the plate holder style vertical storage bar, but I understand the point of having a longer wheel base. Overall, the GHD attachment alone is worth it. At the end it makes the equipment one of, if not the most useful piece of equipment in my home gym.
I'm always a fan when a company takes early adopters into consideration when designing evolutions of their product. The upgrade kit is well made. The instructions were fairly easy to follow, but the video was for the first gen. The second gen is slightly different. It would be helpful if there was a video on each model and steps to upgrade. It's pretty straight forward, but I know some friends who are not handy and they might get lost lol. The quality of the pads are substantially better in this round.
The upgrade kit is high quality and will add some useful functionality to the base unit. I am especially pleased with the added ability to stand the unit for a reduced footprint when putting it away (My gym area is fairly small). The extra padding of the items will also improve comfort on some of the more difficult moves. Thanks!!!
It’s a great upgrade. Everything is much better than the previous iteration of the device. the rubber feet on the roller end pop off every time I use it but it’s a non issue as my back and knees feel normal.
The upgrade kit is totally worth it!! The large GHD attachment has made a difference in gluteal activation when performing glute exercises. Also the upgraded vertical bar has made the machine more stable too!! Great work FA Team!!!
I love my Freak Nordic bench, but the original pads were getting quite flat where my knees sat for Nordics. The upgrade kit is a huge improvement in the padding for Nordics and hyperextensions, far more comfortable and will last the distance. The GHD pad is also way better, I’m enjoying them much more now. I’m happy with the upgrade and recommend it to anyone using their bench regularly.
Completely worth the upgrade. At first I was disappointed about there being a new version only a few months after I purchased. The GHD attachment alone makes the upgrade kit worth the $. It’s now the same size, feel and sturdiness of a dedicated GHD machine The new padding is a nice texture and soft on the knees. The original material may be more durable but this is a far superior feel. Assembly instructions are clear and easy to follow. I appreciated the nuts and bolts being labelled step 1, step 2 etc I’m keeping the parts that were upgraded as backups as in theory this should double the longevity of the machine. Thanks Freak Athlete team. I hope the wheelbarrow/sled will be for sale again in the future.
The pro upgrade kit definitely made the freak athlete nordic hyper more comfortable and usable on a daily basis. In particular the new GHD pad is so much better for doing glute ham raises, which are so beneficial as a powerlifting accessory exercise for the hamstrings. I had a dedicated GHD machine in my garage for a number of years and used it every time before squats or deadlifts. I sold it and bought the nordic hyper so I'd have more space. The original nordic hyper pad for glute ham raises was so woefully inadequate, I instantly regretted selling my old machine. I even stated looking for ways to modify it myself. However, when the pro upgrade kit came along with the big GHD pad I jumped at the chance to get it and it is fantastic. I get full range of motion, it doesn't hurt my kneecaps and it feels very solid. Well worth the money. Now I'm just waiting for the leg developer kit. Thanks team.
